the fish that tumble through the sea
use their vision as their guide
they dart and curve and deftly swerve
to navigate the tide
.
the cave fish have no sight at all
in darkness, they will roam
perhaps they wish, a lantern fish
would visit them at home
.
at dusk, the sun must go to bed
although it longs to stay
the moon at night, sometimes so bright
it helps you find your way
.
the moon is really dull and faint
reflections make it sheen
this lovely spark sometimes grows dark
when earth slides in between
.
a ship out on the rolling waves
may wander near the shore
the sound of surf upon the turf
so easy to ignore
.
a lighthouse has no horn to blow
nor siren that will whine
in darkest night, it spreads its light
its purpose is to shine
.
all humans have their moments
when the darkness closes in
a loving touch can mean so much
to make things bright again
