I'm glad to hear she did something about it in the end. This poem rings very true - all the sad excuses, always the same it seems. Heartbreaking last line.

Thanks insertponceyfrenchnamehere. These woman are our neighbors our sisters the ones smiling in the playground at school pick up the happy ones hiding it away hoping it will go away. Taking the shame that belongs on their partners shoulders. Only last week at my children's school did I speak to a happy mum asking how are you. She was wearing sunglasses but the bruises to her temple and black eye were visible. It is heartbreaking.

'You are sorry as always'. I left 2 relationships when the good times ran out, both times in the early stages of pregnancy. I also volunteered ar the Stirling refuge while expecting my elder daughter. Yes, the 'sorry' can be heartfelt. But it's until the next time.
