From our canoe we

enjoy the brilliance of

nature's retreat

A great encouraging comment, PT. As my one and only mentor, Toronto poet Raymond Souster once told me (he passed away a couple of years ago) "Write differently Dick -- do not copy anyone's style. There is only one of you and one of me." I follow the adage I read many years ago -- "There is nothing new under the sun, only subjects to be re-created."

Couldn't agree more, Richard. I've been doing a lot of cramming up recently. There's such a body of history and technique, and great style and inspiration to be found, but in the end it comes down to what each of us, individually, has to say - and how.

Hello PT or should I call you  Kevin? I appreciate all comments or suggestions for corrections.from anyone. I am self-taught in my writings and edit my own work, with the help of my wife. Professional editors have tried to advise me several times and they massacred my work.They tucked my voice in their pocket and placed a stamp of their style on my work. When I get stuck I re-write my words from another angle to seek the depth I am looking for. Ray also suggested I write in the moment of the happening.
