If you had to describe
the stripes of a zebra
would you say that
they're white or not?
The primary colour
is not easy to spot.
I think I can speak
on the animal's behalf
and say the two shades
are half and half.

I don't think I know the fable you mention. The indecison about colour could, in theory, be applied to the chameleon.

Granted, technically speaking I bent the rules but I thought it would be OK if only one colour - white - was mentioned.
