"Do you have CRS....(can't remember stuff)?"

The kitchen was familiar but...

why had I come in here?

I had no clue

I shook my head

And worried

as I walked out of the room

why couldn't I remember

What I’d wanted to do?

I know there’s a lot

of warring thoughts in my head

I've five minutes to leave

To be on time for work

I've a conference call

To be on at ten

I have to pick up the dog

From the vet at four  

But I can’t remember

Why I was heading to the kitchen

two seconds before?

Losing track of a thought

Is highly upsetting

Just what was it

I needed to do?

Taking a breath

I walk backwards

in my mind

and then...

Eureka!

I remember

I was going to check

If I’d shut off

the coffee pot

I smile with great relief

Turn back towards the kitchen

But my cell phone rings

interrupting my process

I stop to answer the call

Have a quick

One minute conversation

With my sister

Then

I stare at the direction

I am turned in

I know I'm heading to the kitchen

I stand there and sigh heavily

asking myself....

“Why was I going to the kitchen?"
