I think I’ve lost my lucky pants,
the ones I thought gave me a chance,
or they did once at a church hall dance. 

Those holey terrors I had to thank,
it’s not my trousers drawing a blank,
after all … I’m not a Yank.

They'll be down the back of the settee. Or maybe you're wearing them. Or did you lend them to someone, and they never gave them back?

And what's their half-life? They don't last forever, you know. I had some that completely disintegrated after a mere forty years.
