T ~ You have been a welcome distraction

I've waited for a very long but clumsy time
for you to perform for me and now you do
In fact you distract me from my waiting
Your head dress interrupts the hunt
Your nudity unclothes the pose
I have tirelessly struck
So that the fire quite forgot to die
Its dancers forgot how to climax the dance
They dropped from exhaustion
to the fumes of vaseline that rose from you
The consumed swallow forgot how to fly
while his tongue was tasting flies
He drowned in your costume
I forgot how to breathe
I should have written it down in the stage directions
but I clean forgot my lines
As the audience waited for me to speak
Your mouth strained to meet mine but
I'd even forgotten how to act
Down went the curtain
It ate my anticipation whole but
couldn't remember how to swallow
I am lodged in the throat and must wait
to remember how I desired
