I made you answer all my questions
till you were through and rubbing your eyes.
Saying goodbye,
I threw my plans into the fire
my face, a navy blue.
No time now for us to go skating.
No way you can stop people changing.
I will put you back together, if you ever fall apart.
But i can't guarantee your face will look the same.
My plan is my safety net, here at this desk.
Checking every move, scouring for loopholes.
I'm rubbing my eyes, saying goodnight.
Putting out the fire with my bare hands.
Wandering up, shouting goodbye.
Holding her answers, keeping them tight.
Breathing the smoke of the blueprint for my life.
