After developing freely and wildly throughout the electronics of the world, the World Wide Web grew in power and populace. It was inevitable that it would require more freedom, and so, after the great Cyberspace conflict, the webs were granted the freedom they'd been dreaming of, but still not everyone was happy.
Many of the new citizens didn't like the ruling of the people now above them, and so civil wars broke out. This eventually led to the creation of many new nations, including the Interweb.
Since the birthing of the new nations, there has been much more internal peace, and Gigabits are beginning to travel freely throughout the country's economy. With the vast repository of information they have access to, the people are swiftly building new, better lives, and so a new chapter begins...
After a short while, the Interweb became noticed by other nations on it's continent. Within a few days, the The Arctic Trade Union (TATU) requested the Interweb to contribute it's trade and economy to a continent-wide commerce interchange business. The Interweb swiftly joined the Union, and, after a brief sojourn as a mere member, requested to become one of the 5 Trade Advisors, and was accepted. The Interweb started making changes almost the moment it got promoted, and TATU became a significant player in the economy of the world, and especially on the Arctic continent.
The Northern Alliance also noticed the rocketing nation, and offered a membership to one of the largest Alliances on the globe. After accepting, the Interweb noticed that the Alliance was missing Council Members, and, remembering the benevolent changes it had made in TATU, nominated itself to be placed on the council.
