Mania

Let’s get out to the mountains

where air is fresh and free

where scenes are curtains of change

colours and torn jeans

falling in creeks

wild flowers and bear cubs roam

and I am not alone in the thoughtful

opinions I have of others

who harm me with their words

and now I am alone

on trails that know no normal path

and praise no longer sufficient.
