If tattoos were edible,
The people society fears most would be the sweetest.
If bread were a blanket,
I’d grow moldy with it.
If the earth were a cylinder,
People would deny it and call it round.
If lungs were shopping bags,
I’d feel bad for a smoker’s groceries.
If my feet were blocks of butter,
I would be excited,
to melt where I belong.

This is poetry. Such scope of imagination combined with a heartbeat and pleasing language. Excellent piece.

Enjoyed your poem. Very accomplished. Almost reminded me of an old song by Roger Whittaker called, 'If'. If only time would trickle slow like rain that melts the fallen snow.
