Songs Through The Times
By Paul McCann
Over the last 40 years I've written about two thousand songs with a desire to get them recorded .
I have always wanted to share my songs with others and in 1989 I began busking my songs in Sydney and around New South Wales .
I have been encouraged by fellow songwriters and musicians to continue writing . I went busking my songs all around the UK and Ireland from 1989 to 1991 and returned to Sydney with many memories of that experience .
From 1993 to 1999 I was invited to perform my songs around community radio stations in Sydney , The Blue Mountains and The Southern Highlands , then in 2005 I was encouraged to perform my songs at an Irish musical festivsl in Hyde Park Barracks on St Patricks Day in Sydney . Then afterwards I performed at pubs and folk clubs in the Southern Highlands .
In 2008 one of my songs entitled “Lost Sons Of Erin “ won first prize
in the Billboard Song contest in America . It was recorded by Robert and Wendy O’Hearn .
When you’re chasing a dream , it’s never an easy road to travel but I kept
believing my songs could catch on because of the good friends that have helped me with encouraging me in their words of support .
In 1996 I recorded an EP with 5 original songs at a Studio in Welby with Robert Harpley .
Currently in 2025 I am working on a new album , “Streets Of The Soul”
with 10 songs in LCDA studio with Fito Jorge , as the sound engineer who also arranged and produced my last album The Storyteller in 2022 .
Good things are well worth waiting for and after 40 years of writing songs , it’s been well worth the wait .
Thank you to all the people who appreciate the music I make .
You give me reason , you make my songs live and you are why I will continue to write and record because you believe in me .
Too many to name but you know who you are . I love you all .

Hi Paul,
Hi Paul,
congratulations on such a fruitful, musical life. It must be so fulfilling recalling all the people you've met, who have helped you along the way.
Looking back with fond memories is what living is all about, I can tell you have achieved much.
Jenny.
