[Continuing the hymn-for-Sundays series]
Our Jesus prepares us a home.
He’s shepherding all who will come.
What joy there will be when they meet –
the family, gathered, complete.
Their song will be glory to Him
who ransomed their life, pardoned sin,
the Lamb Christ who for them was slain –
how wonderful there is His reign.
All bitterness, malice has gone,
a glorious place is this home.
There’s plenty to do, but no pain.
How wonderful there is His reign.
Tune: 88 88 anapaestic eg Celest, tune of ‘How good is the God we adore’

In the best traditions of Victorian hymnists
Written in the best traditions of Victorian hymnists (if that's the right word). Perhaps the style is due for a revival...

That's a wonderful IP
That's a wonderful IP response, Rhiannon :0) Agree about Victorian hymns being great fun, the unity found in all the voices, doesn't matter if a person (eg me) can't sing, the feeling of joy, being uplifted, the shell of the walls filled with a sense of enthusiastic life, is something I miss from going to church as a child (not that I was a Victorian child!) I think it would be so, to sing your poem

I found that too
I found that too Rhiannon, some song, poetry or hymns with such very beuatiful lovely words and without you really understanding as being too young, with insight actually understanding came only much later, with maturity. Think e.g. Of the serenity prayer.
All kinds of lyrics especially, but more than that, in life in general, the seed planted, real insight coming only much later – when the time is ripe.
Amazing isn't it?! Tom
