Note: inspired by a comment by Turlough.

 

A fellow writer has advocated 
that our editors could change
the award system now in use.
The idea doesn't seem strange.
 
Outstandng pieces on ABTales
are usually awaeded cherries 
But the author Heather Anderson
might instead give them Berries.
 
Tangerines or any type of citrus
that indicate distinction, may suit
but as Janette Winterson says,
Oranges are not the only fruit.
 
Caol Drinkwier's autobiography
which is called The Olive Tree
suggests a graphic illustration
that  would appeal to me. `
 
And if there are a lot of hits
Emma Glass will gve to each
a different drupe altogether,
not a cherry but a juicy Peach.
 
Ignore John Steinbeck's wrath; 
bestow us he image of grapes.
Don't use the picture of bananas
as it may infer that we are apes.

Great one, Luigi! Oranges are indeed not the only fruit, but we could make them Clockwork, although that could take us down paths we may not wish to visit...

Hi Jane. It's interesting how association of ideas works. A Clockwork Orange dind't come to mind whereas I was reminded right away of that autobiography. Your mention of path  made me think of Robert Frost's The Road Not Taken.
