Ekphrastic

My self portrait from a few years back

came in for a lot of stick and flak.

Someone told me that I looked dead, 

and made nasty comments 'bout the size of my head.

Another said, that I should start again, 

it might be better if I used a pen.

There I was , I  thought it fantastic,

but somehow that rhymed with the word 'ekphrastic'!
