Embrace You

Did you think I'd be unhappy with the life I lead
The person, the opinion, the way you force me to be
Take a step back and let me believe
No, that would be too hard for you
It seems to me that it's sent from Hell
Satan-sent but the devil won't tell
Why he lures the people to him
See, now you're switching off just when I begin
I'm holding on for the sign of a perfect day
When the sun shines through my window and the rain stays away
That's when I feel I can banish the love from my heart
Embrace it; embrace you; take it all from the start
When you see me do you want to cry
Match every tear for mine
Then perhaps we can move on together
This life we lead, let's find another
Something to grieve that we've never felt before, something new for me
to burn
You told me that it's sacred and I have so much to learn
But there's nothing anyone wants to teach
He's finished with me, now we're both out of reach
From each other, the love, the glimmer of light
He's out of my mind, while I'm out of his sight
He let me get too close: I'm cold to the touch
You lied to me, then I knew as much
As to never trust anybody again, for just in case
They dress it up all pretty, in passion and lace
And the truth is unsighted, admitted much less
Shall the day come when I feel I can confess
To what is right before my eyes
I am so lonely without your lies.
