"I - er - fine, but there is one thing. I thought... I mean, my father and mother, I thought they'd be here. And my sister. And..."

"You thought you'd be reunited with all the people you loved during your life on Earth? It's perfectly natural. Everybody does."

"I hope they haven't gone to - you know - the other place?"

"There is no other place, John. Everybody comes here. Your parents and your sister are here, and all your other relatives too."

"But they... I mean, I haven't seen them. I thought they'd be..."

"You expected them to be here to greet you? To be just as you remembered them, and ready to be your family again? And you feel as if they don't care about you? It's perfectly natural."

"I thought maybe nobody had told them I'd arrived. Do they know I'm here?"

"They do know, John, but they aren't permitted to make contact with you. You have to take the first step."

"But of course I want to see them again! As soon as possible!"
