The Circle

I squint my eyes through this dust cloud
all I see is blood,bodies,people
people
are they really people?
their eyes are hollow
promises on the radio remain promises
pain has left this earth long ago
the only thing left
is rubble dust that stick on blood
and helped dried remaining tears
a long time ago.
Where do I go now
Where to now?
the silence is broken by these words
some white people said go there
it is safe here
flashes of light in the sky
and here is no more
here is where we search for bodies now
dig the earth with fingers for someone
who stood there once
but now no more
dig a bit deeper
maybe we can find his soul
and compare it with another.
The chants grew louder from the street
people gathered around a body draped with white cloth
red blood drips from a side
it pools with the dust
a mother mourns for a son
her tears are true
they carried it on their shoulders
away from her
The chants grew louder
her voice is drowned, she fades into a corner
Anger everywhere,it spreads so quickly
voices chant with purpose
for revenge,for murder
Verses are picked and chosen
The chants grew louder
it bleeds into the kids
it funnels into their minds
Jihad
blood rushes from minds
into their hearts
an eye for an eye
their options narrowed
the weak complete the circle
the strong stay behind
the tragedy never ends.
