He prays for forgiveness

The warm summer's breeze
flows through his hair,
and a scent of flowers
raises from the ground,
the light of the sun
shines beautifully
on the hard
polished marble,
that is her grave stone.
She always wanted to be buried
in the place they first met,
and the first place that he wept,
he's weeping now too
though in a totally different manner,
the lost of her has struck him
like a hammer-blow to his chest.
Everyday he comes to her place of rest
just to sit with her,
like the old days,
to tell her he forgives her.
He begged her not to go
said that he didn't want to lose her,
but she told him
she wanted to make her family proud,
her dad had been in the navy too, you see.
It was a 3 month mission,
but she came back premature.
So now he's here everyday
giving her forgiveness,
and praying that god
will take the guilt away.
We always assume that it's the wives
and children who are affected,
by deaths at war,
and this is a human flaw.
