Floating, Gliding, high above the land,
I am one with the sky and see far.
the Rabbit miles away, my prey at will,
The trees full of my brethen, my kin.
And below me runs this Black Ribbon of Man,
With lines yellow, lines white unending,
Gleaming things bright colors or dark,
Carrying Man, I know not where.
He's poisoned and burned the land I know,
But this one thing this black Ribbon I love.
For the Sun beats down upon its surface,
The Ribbon sends back gusts of delicious heat
It fills my wings that I may climb, may soar,
Bringing me closer to the clouds, and to God.
And for this I am grateful!
