I took the stars and wove
A fatal web of myth
And man and beast and night.
I took the moon from off its shelf
And aimed its silver flights
Beyond the mind where nature breeds.
I saw him face the bull and fight.
With the weight of music
I saw him rise,
Unfettered by the night,
For once to live, to grasp the horns
A chance to breathe, to dream, to die
I saw him face the bull and fight
To risk all this and more,
To trail a blaze across the night,
To risk all this immortal glow,
Before the dawn, its blades and bite,
I saw him face the bull and fight
