Toes

Where we left each other, lightly touching fingers ends
My feet's skin was a shapes edged, marked in the sinking sand
Covered as water might, my weight sunk in each ones pattern
Your cheeks would be wind fresh and untouched by outline
Your straggled hair breathed easily across the winds flight
Sugar soaked through the sweet colour in your hand white
These toes cold in the intense sea brushing up past the fuss
Every delicate moment in the shores dusk like a picture of us
Though the sea sun went and the night came done as before
Ours was from the wind between the break and afar
Patience in the eye glazed moment we said we saw stars stirring
Like faction in the moon reaching us as evening became started
Ended with waking waters which temporary shafted light creased
Horizon and pillars and night gravely closing from the east
Over the crossing of outstretched toes as shared, intense, belief.
