I. Instantly the doors open
The floodgates drowned
But I digress
The cinnamon gaze burns
But only if you let it
And I leave you with this
Always wear a jacket, and mittens
Because it is cold out there, and I am warm
So say the will o' wisps
Stark shadows engulf the mighty oaks
And I am not scared, because I am there
And I have your kiss
II. Do you remember the last time of year
when the first time was over?
Wasn't that sad? Tragic, even?
There's nothing like the first time, she said
I said there's nothing but the last time.
And she walked out the door right then.
In an instant, you never know what will die
And what will live, grow, flourish.
Then she returned and it didn't matter ever again.
