By The Snail
I raise my sticky heel
Though I've only one flat foot
It serves me well; a ripple goes
From back to front pushing me until I put
My mouth on your lettuce rows
You shriek; but I'm on an even keel.

The Toad
Gardener's friend, devouring grubs
The toad leapt aside from fork and spade
It displayed its attractive form
Gently I moved it- on leaves it laid.
The pond was built for frogs and toads
Leaping through our allotment
Caring person left them water.
They're not bad; they're heaven-sent.
