While sitting on a train
I saw stations rushing past
Outside the window
Of the world I was in

While sitting on a train
I saw many scrap heap motor cars
Like a mighty battle fought
With dead cars lying there
In the field
Or half-drowned instead

While sitting on a train
I tried to think what you would say
When we first met
Or if I would embarrass you
By talking first instead.
