WRITER OF WORDS
I'm a writer of words, the teller of deeds
For those who dare cross me, beware what he reads
No one is safe while I settle a score
With paper and pen, I'll get to the core
I wave about furiously, like a madman who's bent
On fabrications and censure; wherever to vent
You may try to best me, with muscle and bone
But with virulent diction, I'll set the tone
I smash and I wound with words that will loom
If you dare to retort, you'll long for your doom
I'll flatter your ears, and they'll tickle with pleasure
For the heart consumes gossip, and lies without measure
I'm the writer of words, the teller of deeds
For those who dare cross me, beware what he reads
I blazon forth loudly, baring the soul of a fool
They'll make him a byword; no fate is so cruel
Bereft of defense, against a craftsman of phrase
You're impotent and wanting, in the absence of praise
By the creation of words, the formation of tales
You'll find yourself helpless, like a raft dodging gales
For I'll allege and I'll libel
As I swear on the bible
I'm the purveyor of lies and the crier of fables
A caustic employer of fantasies and labels
The truth is negated as I dream up the facts
I will bombast and revile, excoriate and blast
I'm the saint of the tabloids, the king off all spin
I'm the creator of headlines, the destroyer of men
I'm the writer of words, the teller of deeds
For those who dare cross me, beware what he reads
I will shout from the rooftops and the mighty will shrink
While in hyperbolic fashion, I'll rant what I think
With grandiloquent strides, I'll convince and cajole
You'll dread me and loathe me, my harm you'll extol
With my pen I move mountains, or send armies to sea
I entreat and I rail, to a frightening degree
With slanderous syntax, where credence is built
I can send the world toppling, or bring it full tilt
I embellish with prose to appeal to your ears
I can ruin the greatest with colloquial smears
The pen is mightier, than the sword they all say
A truism that bears plenty, in volumes today
Conservatives and liberals are fair game with me
I'll make them or break them, until we agree
I'm a wordsmith who dallies in personal defame
With the pen I roar louder, than hard driven rain
I'm the writer of words, the teller of deeds
For those who dare cross me, beware what he reads
