Pocket Full of Trouble

I found her singing tunes
At the cheapest bar in town
Her makeup ran with tears
There were beer stains on her gown
And tequila was the best friend
She had ever found
She drank it from the bottle
As she crooned to the crowd
She sang:
"What's a guy like you
Want with a girl like me
I'm a pocket full of trouble
I'm a catastrophe
I'll be the thorn in your side
There can be no harmony
Coz a guy like you
Just can't handle a girl like me."
She threw that liquor back
And her demon hit its mark
She stumbled off the stool
To stand fearless in the dark
She gazed around the room
Cigar in her hand
She caught my eye in the mirror
And this is what she said
She said:
"What's a guy like you
Want with a girl like me
I'm a pocket full of trouble
I'm a catastrophe
I'll be the thorn in your side
There can be no harmony
Coz a guy like you
Just can't handle a girl like me."
I saw the devil at her back
There was a monkey on her shoulder
She was weighted down with worries
She couldn't carry any longer.
I looked upon her troubled smile,
Her pretty dress and cat-green eyes,
She looked just like a fragile doll
And I was mesmerized
I said:
"What's a girl like you
Doing in a place like this
I'll help you forget your troubles
With a simple, lovin' kiss
I'll be the crutch at your side
Until we fiind harmony
Coz a girl like you
Belongs with a man like me."
