my eyes, puffy from sleep.
struggle to separate reality
from dreams.
i roll out of bed
my toes hit the cold
floor, the dizziness
sets in and for a
second i stagger
before the clouds disappear
from behind my eyes
the bleak morning
frost nibbles at my
cheeks as the light
envelops the world
around me in a soft glow
but i am too tired.
i know it is there
i will enjoy the
beauty another day.

Hello bluxwil, I too welcome you to ABCTales.com. Your poem is good. Now here is an exercise for you to do, then post it: "Welcome to you too, B" is your title. Now write a poem from the viewpoint of the morning, as if nature sends you a message, as you peer from your window. A writer should be three dimensional in his/her thinking, and writing. All the best, Richard LP
