Can't

You can't come back
Not now
It's been a very long year
It took a while to get the knack
Of sleeping in a single bed
And now that I've cracked it
Why ruin it now?
You can't come back
Not now
I've only just got round to changing
The names on bills and statements
To just mine
To save that daily ache
When the dog barked and the postman came
You can't come back
Not now
I'm used to washing cottons now
I can't even remember what program
Satin and lace go on
So I'd probably get it wrong
And whatever it was
I'd shrink it
It'd never fit again.
You can't come back
Not now
Because if you did
I'd never let you go
And then I'd probably
Get arrested
Or something.
