A reflection of a broken mask

A hurt smile to mask the pain,
Fears trapped and locked away.
Eyes speak a world of hurt,
Shadowed by a laugh that rings out through the day,
How long does this guard remain?
In till she is face to face with what makes her cry?
The reflection starring back at her is a broken child,
Lost and alone hid behind the character she plays to disguise her scars that lie deep in her fragile heart.
Will she ever admit that the tears are hers
or will she continue to act her way
through every day.
Does she even know that everyone sees
The tears she tries to hide so desperately.
Her shaking voice and fear covered eyes are shadowed over by her make believe life.
I wish i could tell her not to be scared
no matter how bad things are now they will turn around
Give her a hug and make her feel safe
But i fear it may already be to late.
Her soul and mind are lost
Her mask now broken and sprit crushed.
All she has left are the tears she cries
The saddest thing is this girl is here everyday and night
Then i realise that the girl in the mirror is a broken shell of who i used to be.
