If I go

Words escape me; I can't run
after things that won't express
what I feel but still, I guess
there are ways it can be done.
Put my faith in things that flow,
balance thoughts inside my mind-
when I'm lost, I'll always find
sky above and ground below.
When I'm lost I look for you
even if it isn't wise.
Time's the thing that never lies;
I will find you when I do.
I will find my road ahead,
follow paths that shine like gold.
I'm not sure, but I've been told
all my fears are in my head,
like: at times when you're away
in a world that's only yours,
when you've locked up all your doors,
and there's nothing left to say,
words elude me. I can't speak,
but I think you know by now
what I wanna say and how,
and the way of life I seek.
And I hope you understand
I don't wanna hold you back,
take you off your chosen track,
bring you down from where you stand.
I am whole and this is true:
I could travel through this land,
walk on water, walk on sand-
but I'd rather be with you.
I am whole, but I have found
things in you that I would miss,
things I couldn't just dismiss,
so I'd like to stick around.
Cause of all the things I know,
all the chances that might come,
of my hopes and dreams the sum
will mean little if I go.
