Why is it when you're single
All you want is to find love
Have someone to come home to
To snuggle up and hug.
You go to bars and nightclubs
And moan to all your friends
There are no decent men left
On whom you can depend.
And then you go and find one
Move in and settle down
There's someone to come home to
You're no longer alone.
It's lovely and it's cosy
(Except, the flat's a mess)
But it's OK, you've found a man
There's no more need to stress
So why when you're co-habiting
Do you begin to pine
For having nights in on your own,
A bath, a glass of wine
You wallow in the luxury
Of spending time apart
Which goes to prove that absence
Makes for a fonder heart.
