Perfect Moment is one of the most anticipated movies of all time,
and even now two months before it is due to be released people are
trying to book tickets for the previews. Hollywood heart throbs are
even purchasing or requesting their exquisite tuxedo's and gowns for
the premiere in LA square.
But behind the scenes of the making of the film, Tom Creek the director
was getting annoyed at his leading actress (Leesa Maguire), who was
getting paid $20 million was getting everything wrong as far as Tom was
concerned. Ben Williams (the actor) was also part of the problem, as he
couldn't learn his lines fast enough.
"Leesa the line is 'I must go to that shop to buy the ingredients for
the potion that will hopefully make my daughter Lucie fit and well
again. You always forget that line! Why? It is one of the easiest!"
moaned Tom complaining about a particular scene that always went
wrong.
"I try my hardest Tom," replied Leesa with a twist of anger in her
voice, "It's not that easy!"
The arguing wasn't a rare moment as it happened most days, but he never
found anything wrong with Kellandria Jones (a child actress) as she
always put enthusiasm and expression into her scenes.
Perfect Moment is a romantic tragedy involving a poor, single mother
and a kind, bookstore clerk. The mother (Tina - played by Leesa) is a
keen reader who finds a book on witchery and potions. When her child
Lucie (Kellandria) turns incredibly ill, she turns to the book for a
potion to help, as her situation is critical. Unfortunately, the
ingredients are weird and wonderful items, which (after research in a
cyber caf?) are only available in a small shop 1,000 miles away in New
York.
While looking around bookshop her phone rings and it's Cassandra (her
best friend). She tells her all about Lucie and what's happening,
without realising that Guy (the clerk played by Ben) is listening
carefully to everything she says. He tells her that he knows a friend
at the airport who could give her a cheap flight and in honour of her
attitude she asks him to go with her. He eagerly agrees and the next
week they take off for New York, leaving Lucie behind as she is in a
specialist children's hospital. When they get back they go to the back
of the bookshop and make up the potion. A couple of exhausting hours
later they arrive at the hospital to see her very weak and in a coma.
She later dies and the pair (who by this time have grown close) grieve
together for a long time. When the shock wears off Guy proposes to an
ecstatic Tina, who together have twin girls called Lizzie and
Victoria.
A week later during the rehearsals -which are now more tense than
ever-, Ben turns up with a hoarse and sore throat. When they were about
to start a scene Ben opened his mouth to speak, but nothing came out.
This made Tom even more nervous, because if his voice didn't come back
soon, they wouldn't be able to finish the remaining scenes before it
was released. Tom couldn't take this risk, so he went into his cramped
office and phoned the actor agency (Hollywood Superstars) to find
another skilled and entertaining actor. Tom gave them a description of
the perfect person he needed - a man that looked exactly or similar to
Ben - and they came across a twenty year old budding actor, who had the
exact same shade of light brown hair and deep green eyes. His name was
James and he arrived just after noon from his part time job, which
funnily enough was in a bookshop. As soon as he arrived Tom handed him
a script of the remaining scenes and he went into a corner to start
learning his lines. By two p.m. he emerged and they were ready to
begin.
The scene they were about to record was where they arrived back and
went to see Lucie in hospital.
"Quick Guy, hurry." called Leesa from another room on the set of the
bookstore -Books 'R' Us- as she grabbed the potion," we have to go and
see Lucie, before it's too late!"
"I'm coming Tina just let me close the store," replied James taking two
shiny keys out of his blue jacket pocket.
Next, they had to move location to a busy street, where they hung up a
sign saying the name of the shop (over another bookshop's sign, which
they had copied the look of) and after Leesa had stepped out he shut
the door and pretended to lock it with the keys, that he had taken out
on the other set. Then, they ran down the street and waited for a taxi
that had been waiting round the corner ready for them. The scene showed
them riding off towards the hospital and then the camera stopped
filming. There were only about thirteen more scenes and then the actors
and actresses would have time to relax for once, as they had been
constantly working for around ten months!
Seven weeks later Ben's voice had returned and was now walking up a
new, velvet, red carpet into LA Square's premiere cinema in his new
Revaldo tuxedo, with his fianc? Michelle Puerto in a breath-taking
Gucci creation holding hands with him.
Leesa and Kellandria emerged from a white stretch limo both wearing
beautiful hand made dresses, with James following behind them. Every so
often they stopped to face the press who were awaiting celebrities to
take pictures of to put in magazines and newspapers.
Inside there were about five thousand black chairs, which were
specially made for the cinema by a Colombian designer. Before the movie
Tom Creek made a speech about the determination by James and about how
well everyone did. He also answered questions by the limited number of
press who had been let in to review the movie. Afterwards everyone
applauded the movie for at least ten minutes and the stars of the movie
and celebrities were led away in their limos to a private party, which
lasted, into the early hours of the morning. It was at Star Delight a
very posh and exclusive club, which specialised in wedding receptions
and parties. It was located in a beautiful, private neighbourhood near
the outskirts of LA. Most of the female celebrities changed outfits as
they had had even more beautiful dresses custom made for parties. Back
in LA Square all the press and fans vanished from the litter-strewn
streets and made their way back home in taxi's to their homes either
locally or some had come from as far away as Brazil and were on their
way to the airport or hotels. Most of the press left to go to the
offices where they were to slave for a couple of hours for the review
to be out ready for tomorrow's newspaper. Afterwards all that was left
was a midsummer's night!
