Snow day tragedy

Eve opened her eyes on a cold December day and slowly rose out of
bed. She walked over to the window muttering about the cold and looked
out.
"Snow," she cried and ran into the bathroom to get dressed. She pulled
on her thick skiing jacket and hat so her mum wouldn't moan, ran
downstairs and into the garden shed to get her sledge. She saw it and
picked up her beautiful red sledge and hurried out the front door
yelling: "see you in a couple of hours mum."
A few hours later the energetic Eve ran into the kitchen to a smell of
hot chocolate. Her mum had poured her a huge cup and topped it with
squirty cream and ground nutmeg. After she had quickly swallowed it
down her mum brought out their lunch some ham and mayo sandwiches. She
enjoyed every bite and then went back out again into the cold snowing
atmosphere. But before long after going down the hill she had hit a
huge rock and had been thrown from it into a pile of brambles. Several
people managed to get her out safely but she had landed on her face and
her head had cracked open. A kind lady and her husband who had been on
their daily walk rushed her to the hospital. She needed twenty stitches
to her head and now every time it snows she is more careful.
