Remembrance

Love Poem

So many words unspoken,

So many I wish I’d said,

But I still have my memories

And I replay them in my head.

The happy times we had together

The carefree summer days,

 I wanted it to last forever,

I thought we had it made.

We entered working life at the age of just 16,

And we figured out the world while we were still in our teens.

You were always there, with me by my side,

We chatted and danced, while the whole world passed us by.

I will always remember,

And keep you safe in my heart,

I will never forget that I was with you from the start.

And on those sad sad days,

When hope is hard to find,

I will think of how you lived your life,

And how I want to live mine.

To light up a room, every time you walk in,

To smile infectiously, and always with a grin,

To love my friends with passion and always with great grace

To always try to forgive and remember never to hate.

Always be grateful and always be kind,

To never dwell on the negatives that in your life you find.

I will always remember the person that you were.

But know I love you dearly,

No matter how far apart we are.

I pray for the day when I’ll see you again,

But for now, I guess its goodbye to the most amazing friend.
