Shouldn't all the Tom's matter to.

'Melvyn;...Melvyn...Toms voice cut through the heads and the faces of people around the round table in the community room. clients were replacing lids on their sandwich box's they had brought in from home. Lots of people still lived at home with mostly loving families but were sent to day care centres in order to be socialised or kept safe. Tom couldn't fathom what socialised meant but it had to be important. After all; he had heard his mum saying that to his dad a long time before he went away with his case full of tears. His mum seemed to talk a lot about what would happen to Tom when one day she went to heaven. Tom thought that heaven must be quite a busy place and everyone seemed to go there. He knew that some were sent there with no warning at all although he knew his mum was going there; what with her getting thinner, clothes bigger and her bones showing sharp in her face......and everywhere else. In the end she couldn't stay long on her feet. In the end she had to be carried to the bath....even though it was only a few of brave Tom's footsteps away.
