Benny the Shoe

Benny the Shoe always had too much to do
He spent every Sunday working through and through
He had a limp from his childhood and a stacked club shoe
With grumpy, gurning features (coz he strained when he pooed)

He was working this morning, DIY in the shed
He’d just finished the carpet when he dropped down dead
He’d done the walls and started on the shelves
When the heart attack took him just before 12

Now Benny enjoys heaven, there is so much to be done
Not only can he walk up here, he can actually run
He doesn’t gurn or grunt or poo or lay grumbling in bed
He fixes houses and gardens for others, who enjoy being dead
