The scent of mimosa blossom
On a Mediterranean morning,
My house, so still, so quiet, by blue waters.
The day ahead:
Full of letters to be groomed,
A torrent of words in a silken waterfall.
A luxury bath and a car journey into town,
All the way home I can smell salami, apple, pimento,
And the delicatessen's best cherry cheesecake.
Jetting off to Japan, Hawaii, Paris and Rome
I am a hungry traveller,
To live into my book-world.
The net result, a library of pleasure,
Dollars and dollars of recreation,
And the scent of mimosa blossom
On a Mediterranean morning,
An escape from the final chapter.
