Ain't no valley low enough

"These mountains seem to be made to keep
us humble, " you mumble when we take
the path to the idle top. The sun in the sky
is like a contended Austrian farmer. The alps
are like sumptuous naked bodies. What can
happen to us? The backpacks are filled with
bread and milk. We read the directions on
the wooden signs. 'Begehen auf eigene Gefahr.
Nur für geübte und trittsichere Wanderer.'
Our shadows fit seamlessly into the edges
of the rocks. To be on the move. So we assess
practically. Should one expect more of life?
