Innocent tourist (I.P.)

If injustice has a face,

what would it look like?

Would it amicably salutes you

if you passed it on the high street?

Would you remember the face later on?

For example, would you recall

the deep blue eyes,

the soft pink cheeks

Or would the face be gray?

Like garbage containers or lead rain pipes.

Would it be gray as the face of the patient  

waiting to be treated at the dentist.

Or should injustice have the face

like the usual suspects on TV shows?

Faces ingrained with slyness?

Just for you to notice how to ignore it,

how to keep your family and dearest friends

away from its tricks and games.

If injustice has a face,

could it look like mine and yours?

Could it resembles our happiness

on holidays photos?

Could it simulate our smiles

when we are turnaround by carrousels?
