CALIGULA ON CAPRI
I rise each morning - the rising sun, he calls me,
He the setting, settled on this isle,
Surrounded I as the dawn breaks through veils
Of white, by the sight to forever revile,
The pans and nymphs prancing 'tween the trees,
Faunicate and play as they please,
Like I between the eyes that watch me
And smile
I'm alone with me, my desires and he,
Alone on the island of Capri,
Day after day,
My naivety peels and drifts away
Among the baths and the pillared, weathered legs
(That will soon crack and fall, methinks,)
The minnows dart, trained so young, they nibble,
The border between man and animal becomes ever less distinct,
The minnows' legs are pale and blue
But smooth where his are withered through
And stink
I'm alone with he, his minnows and me,
Alone on the island of Capri,
Day after day,
My stupidity flakes and is swept away
His nudes entomb him as they dance across their fresco,
Perversions are practiced in paved mosaic,
Atlanta performs for her lover fellatio,
Like Rome to their Emperor! They'll give and he'll take,
But motive is hidden by the clamour of terror,
If he thinks they revere him then he is in error,
Foul rake
I'm alone with he in his tapestry,
Alone on the island of Capri,
Day after day,
My humanity dies and rots away
Caprineum, they call it, jokingly (means 'goatland')
If so - fuck me! I'm a slave to the goat,
Encrusted in years, he bleets to me amicably,
That bent, haggared crow, that gnarly old stoat,
I'd wait laughing for the day he falls,
Then I'll tear out his heart and auction his balls
And throat
I'm alone with he so maddeningly,
Alone on the island of Capri,
Consumed every day,
My memories melt and drip away
Murderer, bastard,
Bloated ogre, hideous troll,
I hate him, I loathe him,
I'll go one better than him
LET ME OFF THIS ACCURSED PLACE!
