Cookies

I baked cookies today
Warm, chewy,
gooey cookies.
The ones that were made with my own
hands
While you sit, watching a
movie
I read the instructions
carefully
Knowing I can't mess up on this
one
This batch has got to be
perfect
And I can't quit until I'm
done
So I dump in the cookie
mix
And add some chocolate chips
To
make it sweet and yummy
So you would lick your
lips
And while I mix this batch of
cookies
I hear screaming and
yelling
But my music drowns it out
So I just keep on smiling
You
come to try to help me out
By telling me what to
do
But I get frustrated and
angry
This feeling isn't anything
new
So you slowly walk
away
Disappointed and sad
Because
I have my own way of doing things
Thanks anyway,
dad
Your disappointment hurt
more
Than all the pain in the
world
Combined together
It makes me
want to hurl
But I can't go
back
And I can't give up
These
cookies have to be the best
And I whimper like a
scolded pup
The cookies are
ready
They're finally done
But why
are they salty?
Hell has begun
