In the chapel of the hospital
She is kneeling down to pray
Not really knowing what to say
She lights another candle
Here eyes are closed
The frailty of her body shows
Sick she is...yes, very ill indeed
Yet there she goes, lighting her candle
Her prayers are without words
Her heart speaks for her mouth
As she thinks of her youngest son
The fragrance of her candle spreads
As I watch this imaginary scene
My heart goes out...my memories revive
The memories of this woman of my life
Make my words lost...my mouth run dry
Here's a woman...so frail, so ill
Gathering all her strength to go
And light that candle in the chapel
Here's my mother...my eyes wet with tears
