Thought for the New Year.

Two Thou' and nine has passed away
and the new year's fast beginning.
Forget the past and think ahead,
yes, life is there for living.

But from the past just take the best
and leave the rest behind.
For what comes next you'll have to test
and find the way that suits you.

The best decisions man can make
take count of things gone by,
and things to come with progress,
inventions, science finds.

And finally in all of this,
each person finds a route,
that brings them peace and comfort,
ans causes no one hurt.

In present times with all its faults
it's hard to find the road,
but with goodwill and strength of mind
I'm sure that peace will reign.

But then we have the men of war,
whose thoughts are not of peace.
Then those of peace must keep the faith
and guard against invaders.

For future years and generations,
which some of us won't see
let's hope that those who must decide
will find the way, IN PEACE.
