Two figures stand out amongst the rubble hiding from the burning sky above. They walk towards one another as the sound of the falling shells crashing to the ground fades away. “How do you do, ma’am” said the gentlemen, taking of his cap and bowing before the lady figure.
“What are you doing out here?! Can’t you see the destruction around you?!” scolding she protests the gentleman’s behavior.
“I only came out to see you, of course. “The most wondrous women in the land lies in destruction” is what they say.” He approaches her, and takes her hand. “Would you care to dance with me?”
“How could you think of that at a time like this!? Why would you want to dance now—” her protesting interrupted by a quick kiss.
“That’s why.” Taking her other hand. “Now for that dance—” Mesmerized she follows him as they glide gently across the ground in the dimming light, and the sounds of falling bombs echoing in the distance.
