hesitation in a breath

A pause completes your breath
as time slips through a conversation that is lost between the innuendos of time itself.
Moments rush from the past
then diverge
to run in parallel lines to quotes
from
a poet's dream.
Wordless conversation gains momemtum
then speeds along a ribbon of light to the sea
to reykjavik
and the smile of a winter's night.
Life pours from ambient sounds in the wind
as you take a breath between pauses;
words silenced by their own enigma.
Bach finds his way back to your soul
as notes in love's symphony echoes words written upon a page long ago.
Conversations lose themselves amongst the snowflakes that run across your window,
and
dance through the light of streetlamps to canvases below your feet.
Compositions driven from the heart of the soul find their way to lamp-lit rooms;
each note losing then finding itself within a complement of snowflakes.
Life-echoes are hesitations finding their way
to spaces paused between breaths;
an enigma finding the place where it began;
in reykjavik
amongst the snowflakes that dance across the light of a winter's night.

I liked the breaths and pauses, and the way this sort of runs away with itself like you were on a thought roll when you wrote it.
