Children

The pitter patter of tiny feet
The cute little smiles with chocolate on your face
The adventure in your eyes as you grow
The love you truly show
Your innocence, your questions of life
Everything about you you’re willing to learn
As you grow, your emotions start to show
Some are good, some not so pleasant
But I know that they are learnt
Patterned from your parents
So please forgive us,
When impatience we display
When all you want to do is play
Adults suffer stress, and unfortunately
Our minds are not at rest
Because we want you to always be your best
Keep forgetting we were children once
And all we wanted to do was to sing and dance
Try to avoid the mistakes our parents made
But the harder we try, the more we make
So please forgive us,
When impatience we display
When all you want to do is play
Your example and love
Always show that you are a gift
Sent to earth from the angels above
So please forgive us,
When impatience we display
When all you want to do is play.
