Rat-a-tat. Rat-a-tat A Bosnian tail
Rat-a-tat. Rat-a-tat
Was I dreaming or did I hear a call
Or was it a noise at the door
Wrapped arms entwined worm and blind
I move a muscle to make sure
You were here and would defend all
From the noise at the door
Rat-a-tat. Rat-a-tat.
There it was again that shaking of my reverie
Mixing with a dream of you and me
Of a soldier with bayonet sharp
Insisting that we should part
If I could just hold you closer
Wrapped up in our large four poster
Rat-a-tat. Rat-a-tat.
I squeezed with all my might
This cannot be happening this cannot be right
We are in our home in our town at night
He was screaming for you to move
Shouting from his lips so bright
That he was right and you should get out tonight
Rat-a-tat. Rat-a-tat.
Crashing and smashing through my dream
I heard it again with eyes wide open
With gun fire broken
By screams half choked
In blood as they spoke
My children came worm soaked
In red
And tried to get into bed
The door broken and unhinged
Fire followed and singed
I heard, Rat-a-tat. Rat-a-tat
