Forgiveness

There is a story based on forgiveness my father used to tell. The story goes as follows.
There was once upon a time a family that used to be very happy. Their happiness would usually be silenced in winter the time when the rats would breed. These rats were a real problem to them. They could not live with them, well some likes to call them mice. Making noise all night long was their favorite games. Scarring the kids at night, they were very good at that. Something just had to be done.
The father thought the idea if the mice trap was the best. He had them set all over the house. He thought he was done with it but instead it was almost done with his family. He was coming from work when he heard his house under a very strange, unusual and unfamiliar Chorus. Guess what It was two of his kids, one 3 and the other 5 hosting the show. Having their hands clipped tight in the mighty jaws of the mice trap. For how long nobody knows. Lucky enough none of then lost a hand. Father was so angry that he could do anything to get pay back.
The other day Father brought home Rats Killer, the pesticide that is used to kill rats. He mixed it with Peanut Butter that is the rats and mice's favorite. He was careful enough this time to get the trap out of children's reach. Yes of cause the rats, almost all of them fell victims of this one.
There was one serious problem. Yes some of them they were found dropped dead on the floor. But remember that not all of them die where you can see them. What do you think happened to those they didn't find? Of cause they all decomposed and guess what? What a surprise it was for the family. Believe it or not in two days time, they were forced to forsake their home. Their own home they were paying rentals for, they just couldn't live in it anymore. This was so for a week or so.
Now there was maybe just one clever mouse left. This one was so clever. It must have a country mouse or so. It was now getting a mess out of everything in the house. Going through the sofas, the clothes in the wall drop all of them, worst and best and most of all in the food reserves. This one was worse than ever. On a several occasion, some of the family members always ended up sustaining some complicated fractures in the process of chasing this country mouse. Its like when you get home, when you open the door, you see it running across the room to one corner and the up the ceiling, you try to go after it and get hurt in the process.
It was so awful. It was more than just a living nightmare. Father was really cross this time. No man likes to be victimized in his own house. No man welcomes such hostility in his own house. This was more than just a challenge for him. If he was to think of all of his property damaged by the mice or in the process of chasing the mice, His temperature would raise hence raising his anger.
One day, it was father to get home first. A mission well planed by an organized man is a success indeed. He knew exactly which direction the mice would run from the cupboards if he was to open the door. So he took an old box, which was open on top. He holds it upside down. He swiftly opened the door and in one flash he was already at the corner where the mouse would use when going up the ceiling. In a wink of an eye, the mouse had already been covered or should I say trapped in the box.
Father was so happy. While waiting for everyone to come home, he was wondering how best he was to punish it. He couldn't come up with the best idea. Everyone was soon home and I tell you, you should have been there to see how happy they were to see the mouse trapped. Everyone just wanted to be the one to kill it for each the trouble and the damages it had caused. But they could not all each kill it.
Finally, it was the father who suggested that the mouse was to be deepen in petrol (gasoline), set it on fire and let it go and die its horrible death. They did just that. They set it on fire and let it go. The only place the mouse knew it would be safe was up in the ceiling. So when they let it go it went straight in the house and guess what, It made it up on the ceiling. It was too late for anyone to stop it.
In a few minutes, the whole house guts down on fire. They lost all that they had. Yes the mouse too but it died with all they had.
For Sunday school and Pre school.
