Marble Hunt

Me and my tinned lies,
Pre-packaged masks,
My porkie pies,
We like to play
Snakes and ladders
To fill the day.
And today I fear
Having eyes that
Do not peer,
As once longing is gone,
Life is no more
A self-written song.
So it is real;
Afraid to sleep,
I heal, but feel.
Searching to find,
The ultimate gain:
Free reign of my mind.
Oops! Another shunt
Dents my skull
On this marble hunt,
Taking quick glances
At my option
To give no more chances.
Confrontation with hope,
Is a daily to-do,
Oh, spare me the rope.
Bombs away,
In the closet;
Screw this dismay!
